Κάπου στον κόσμο υπάρχουν άνθρωποι που δεν έχουμε συναντήσει ποτέ, δεν γνωρίζουμε τις ιστορίες τους και ίσως μιλάμε διαφορετικές γλώσσες. Κι όμως, μπορεί να μας συνδέει ένας κοινός πρόγονος, μια οικογενειακή ιστορία χαμένη στον χρόνο ή ένα μικρό κομμάτι κοινού DNA.

Από αυτή την απλή αλλά συναρπαστική σκέψη γεννήθηκε η ιδέα του Kyriakou Global Family Tree. Τον Μάιο του 2028 θα συναντηθούμε στην Έδεσσα άνθρωποι από διαφορετικές χώρες και οικογενειακούς κλάδους, για να γνωριστούμε, να παρουσιάσουμε τα οικογενειακά μας δέντρα, να μοιραστούμε παλιές φωτογραφίες, ονόματα, τόπους και ιστορίες και να προσπαθήσουμε να ανακαλύψουμε πού συναντιούνται οι διαδρομές των προγόνων μας.

Δεν αναζητούμε απλώς ένα κοινό επώνυμο. Αναζητούμε τις πραγματικές συνδέσεις ανάμεσα σε ανθρώπους και οικογένειες, μέσα από τη γενεαλογική έρευνα, τα οικογενειακά αρχεία και το DNA.

Θέλουμε να ενώσουμε τα κομμάτια ενός μεγάλου οικογενειακού παζλ και να δημιουργήσουμε μαζί ένα παγκόσμιο οικογενειακό δέντρο που θα συνεχίσει να μεγαλώνει και μετά τη συνάντησή μας.

Γιατί πίσω από κάθε όνομα υπάρχει μια ιστορία.
Πίσω από κάθε κλαδί υπάρχουν άνθρωποι.
Και κάπου βαθιά στις ρίζες μας, οι δρόμοι μας μπορεί να συναντιούνται.

Somewhere in the world, there are people we have never met. We may speak different languages, live in different countries, and have grown up in different cultures. Yet, we may share a common ancestor, a forgotten family story, or even a small piece of the same DNA.

From this simple yet fascinating idea, the Kyriakou Global Family Tree was born.

In May 2028, people from different countries and family branches will gather in Edessa, Greece, to meet one another, present their family trees, share old photographs, historical records and personal stories, and explore where the paths of our ancestors may have crossed.

This is more than a search for a shared surname. It is a journey to discover the real connections between people and families through genealogy, historical research, family archives, and DNA.

Together, we hope to bring together the pieces of a global family puzzle and build a living family tree that will continue to grow long after our gathering has ended.

Because behind every name, there is a story.
Behind every branch, there are people.
And somewhere deep within our roots, our paths may meet.
